This molded rubber connector is part of the early Roadster heater and ventilation system and installs at the side of the heater box. Original pieces commonly become hardened, cracked, split, distorted, or deteriorated after decades of exposure to heat and age.
Replacing a damaged or missing vent rubber helps restore the connection within the heater and ventilation system and provides a proper seal between the mating components.

Important:
This is the early-style heater box side vent rubber used on 1965 through 1967.5 Roadsters.
The heater and ventilation system was revised for the later high-windshield cars. 1968-1970 Roadsters use a different heater/ventilation arrangement and do not use this early-style piece.
