1970-1978 Datsun 240Z 260Z 280Z Hood-to-Cowl Weatherstrip Seal
Replacement hood-to-cowl weatherstrip for Datsun 240Z, 260Z, and 280Z models. This seal installs across the rear of the engine compartment at the cowl / firewall area and seals against the underside of the hood when the hood is closed.
The hood-to-cowl seal helps prevent water, leaves, dirt, dust, and engine-compartment debris from passing between the rear edge of the hood and the cowl area. It also restores the finished weatherstrip edge across the rear of the engine compartment.
Because of its location, the original seal is continuously exposed to engine heat, sunlight, water, and repeated compression from the hood. Original seals commonly become hardened, cracked, flattened, torn, shrunken, brittle, or completely missing after decades of use.
Replacing the deteriorated hood-to-cowl weatherstrip restores the original sealing surface between the hood and cowl and is an excellent finishing detail during an engine-bay or complete vehicle restoration.

Important: This is the weatherstrip located at the rear of the engine compartment near the windshield/cowl. It seals against the underside of the hood when the hood is closed.
