Datsun 240Z / Early 260Z Gas Filler Protector / Gas Flap
Replacement gas filler protector / rubber gas flap for the Datsun 240Z and early-production 260Z.
This molded rubber protector installs behind the fuel-filler opening and surrounds the filler neck, helping protect the painted body and fuel-filler area from spilled fuel during refueling.
Original gas filler protectors commonly become hardened, cracked, torn, distorted, or completely missing after decades of exposure to fuel and the elements.

Production Note:
Nissan OE 78818-E4100 was originally used throughout 240Z production and continued into early 260Z production.
Beginning approximately 09/1974 production, Nissan changed the gas filler protector to the later 78818-N4200 configuration.
For later-production 260Z models, use the appropriate later-style gas filler protector.
Important:
This is the large rubber gas filler protector / gas flap located behind the fuel-filler opening.
It should not be confused with the small rubber bumpers used to cushion the fuel filler door when closed.
