Replacement rear hatch glass perimeter molding / weatherstrip for 1989-1995 Volkswagen Corrado models.
This rubber profile installs around the perimeter of the rear hatch glass and restores the finished appearance and exterior weather protection surrounding the bonded rear window.
Unlike earlier vehicles that use a conventional rubber gasket to physically retain the rear glass, the Corrado rear window is bonded into the hatch. This perimeter rubber is therefore not the primary structural glass-retaining adhesive. Its purpose is to finish and seal the exterior perimeter surrounding the bonded rear hatch glass.
Original rear glass perimeter rubber commonly becomes hardened, cracked, shrunken, distorted, or damaged after decades of exposure to sunlight and weather. Replacement restores the finished factory-style appearance around the rear window and helps protect the perimeter of the bonded glass installation.

Important: The Corrado rear hatch glass is bonded into the hatch using automotive glass adhesive. This rubber molding / weatherstrip is not a conventional glass-retaining gasket and should not be relied upon to structurally secure the rear window.
Professional automotive glass installation procedures and the appropriate urethane glass adhesive should be used when removing and reinstalling the rear hatch glass.
This product is the rubber molding / weatherstrip located around the rear hatch glass itself.
It is not the large rear hatch / tailgate opening weatherstrip that attaches to the vehicle body and seals against the complete hatch when it is closed.
