1985-1992 VW Golf GTI Mk2 Rear Hatch-to-Body Weatherstrip – 12 Foot
Aftermarket replacement rear hatch-to-body weatherstrip for 1985-1992 Volkswagen Golf Mk2 and GTI Mk2 models. Supplied as a continuous 12-foot length, this replacement profile installs around the rear hatch opening and is trimmed to the required length during installation.
The weatherstrip mounts to the body around the perimeter of the rear hatch opening and seals against the hatch when closed. It provides the primary seal between the rear hatch and body, helping prevent water, dust, debris, wind, and outside air from entering the rear cargo area.
Original Mk2 hatch weatherstripping commonly becomes hardened, cracked, compressed, torn, shrunken, or permanently flattened after decades of use. Deteriorated hatch weatherstripping can contribute to water leaks in the cargo area, wind and road noise, drafts, and moisture accumulation around the rear hatch opening.
This aftermarket replacement uses a continuous weatherstrip profile supplied in a 12-foot length, providing sufficient material to fit the complete Golf Mk2 rear hatch opening. The seal is trimmed to its final length during installation and the ends are joined at the bottom of the hatch opening.

Important: This is an aftermarket cut-to-fit replacement weatherstrip. It is not a molded or pre-cut genuine Volkswagen seal.
The weatherstrip is supplied as one continuous 12-foot length and must be trimmed to its final length during installation.
Install the weatherstrip around the complete rear hatch opening, test-fit before making the final cut, and position the joined ends at the bottom of the hatch opening.
The original Volkswagen rear hatch seal measures approximately 3550 mm (11.65 feet). The supplied 12-foot replacement provides additional material for trimming and final fitting.
This is the rear hatch-to-body weatherstrip. It is NOT the rear hatch glass seal that installs around the rear window glass.
