1985-1992 VW Golf GTI Mk2 Rain Tray-to-Hood Seal – 50 Inch
Replacement rain tray-to-hood weatherstrip for 1985-1992 Volkswagen Golf Mk2 and GTI Mk2 models. This seal installs along the rain tray/scuttle area at the rear of the engine compartment and seals against the underside of the hood when the hood is closed.
The rain tray-to-hood seal helps control water, leaves, dirt, and other debris entering the cowl and engine compartment area from the base of the windshield. It also restores the finished seal between the rear edge of the engine compartment and the closed hood.
Original seals commonly become hardened, cracked, compressed, torn, deteriorated, or completely missing after decades of exposure to engine heat and weather. Replacing a deteriorated seal restores proper contact with the underside of the hood and helps protect the rain tray and cowl area.
This replacement is supplied as one continuous 50-inch section and is trimmed to the required length during installation.

Important: This weatherstrip installs along the rain tray / scuttle lip at the rear of the engine compartment and seals against the underside of the hood when closed.
The seal is supplied as a 50-inch continuous length and must be trimmed to the required length during installation.
This is NOT the plastic rain tray/water deflector itself. It is the rubber weatherstrip that seals the rain tray area against the closed hood.
Retain the original seal whenever possible and use it as a reference when determining final length and positioning.
