1984-1992 VW Golf / GTI / Jetta MK2 Drip Rail Rubber Replacement Strip Kit
Replacement soft rubber sealing strips for the original roof drip rail / rain gutter moldings used on Volkswagen Golf, GTI, and Jetta MK2 models.
The original MK2 roof drip rail assembly consists of a hard ABS molding with a soft rubber sealing strip bonded to it. After decades of exposure to sunlight and weather, the original soft rubber commonly becomes hardened, cracked, shrunken, separated, or completely deteriorated while the hard ABS portion of the molding remains reusable.
Rather than replacing the complete and increasingly difficult-to-find roof moldings, this kit allows you to carefully remove the deteriorated original rubber and install new soft rubber sealing material onto your existing ABS drip rail moldings.
The replacement material is supplied approximately 180 inches long, providing enough material to restore both the LH and RH roof drip rail moldings on applicable 2-door or 4-door models.

Important: This kit includes ONLY the soft rubber sealing material.
The hard ABS roof molding / rain gutter / drip rail is NOT included. Your original hard ABS moldings must be present and reusable.
The deteriorated original rubber must be carefully removed from the ABS molding before installation. Thoroughly clean the bonding surface and remove the remaining original adhesive before installing the replacement rubber.
The replacement strip must be carefully positioned, bonded, and trimmed during installation. We recommend Cyberbond Apollo 2008 Instant Rubber Adhesive for installation.
Test-fit and determine the final positioning of the rubber before applying adhesive. Instant adhesive sets very quickly and allows little opportunity for repositioning once the rubber contacts the molding.
