1975-1984 VW Rabbit / Golf Mk1 Rear Hatch Glass Seal – CAL Style
CAL-style rear hatch glass weatherstrip for Volkswagen Rabbit and Golf Mk1 hatchback models. This molded seal installs around the rear window glass in the hatch and seals the glass to the rear hatch panel.
This CAL Style version features a clean, solid-black exterior profile without a groove for the factory chrome / decorative metal trim. It is ideal for restorations and custom builds where the original exterior window trim is being eliminated in favor of a smooth black appearance.
Original rear hatch glass seals commonly become hardened, cracked, shrunken, brittle, or deteriorated after decades of exposure to sunlight and weather. A damaged or deteriorated rear window seal can allow water, wind, dust, and moisture to enter around the rear hatch glass.
Replacing the rear hatch glass weatherstrip restores the seal between the glass and hatch while providing the clean appearance of a trim-free CAL-style installation.

Important: This is a CAL Style rear hatch glass seal with a smooth exterior profile.
It does NOT have the groove required for the original chrome / decorative metal window trim. The factory trim is eliminated when using this seal.
For vehicles retaining the original-style decorative rear window trim, use the OEM-style grooved rear hatch glass seal instead.
This seal fits the rear glass installed in the hatch. It should not be confused with the separate rear hatch-to-body weatherstrip that seals the complete hatch assembly to the vehicle body.
This product is for Rabbit / Golf Mk1 hatchback models and does not fit the Jetta Mk1 sedan or Rabbit Convertible / Golf Cabriolet.
