VW Rabbit Golf Jetta Mk1 Rear Hatch / Trunk Lid-to-Body Seal – 16 Foot
Replacement rear hatch / trunk lid-to-body weatherstrip for Volkswagen Rabbit, Golf Mk1, and Jetta Mk1 models. This seal installs around the rear body opening and seals against the hatch or trunk lid when closed.
The weatherstrip helps prevent water, wind, dust, and outside debris from entering the rear cargo or luggage compartment. Original rear opening seals commonly become hardened, cracked, flattened, torn, shrunken, or brittle after decades of compression and exposure to weather.
This replacement is supplied as a 16-foot continuous length rather than a pre-formed molded loop. The weatherstrip is cut to the required length during installation, and the two ends are joined together with a suitable instant adhesive after the seal has been properly fitted around the opening.
The generous 16-foot length allows the same replacement weatherstrip profile to be adapted to applicable Rabbit / Golf Mk1 hatchback and Jetta Mk1 trunk openings.

Important: This is the rear hatch / trunk lid-to-body weatherstrip.
On Rabbit and Golf Mk1 hatchback models, it seals the complete rear hatch assembly to the body opening.
On Jetta Mk1 sedan models, it seals the trunk lid to the body opening.
It should not be confused with the Rabbit / Golf rear hatch glass seal, which installs around the rear window glass itself.
This weatherstrip is supplied as a 16-foot continuous cut-to-fit length. Test-fit the complete seal around the opening before cutting. Once the proper length has been established, trim the weatherstrip and bond the ends together using a suitable instant adhesive.
