1975-1981 VW Scirocco Mk1 Front Windshield Seal – OEM Style – Grooved
OEM-style front windshield weatherstrip for Volkswagen Scirocco Mk1 models. This molded windshield gasket installs around the perimeter of the front windshield glass and seals the windshield into the body opening.
This OEM Style version features the correct groove for installation of the factory-style metal / decorative windshield trim. It is designed for restorations where the original exterior windshield trim is being retained, preserving the original appearance and trim configuration of the Scirocco Mk1.
Original windshield seals commonly become hardened, cracked, shrunken, brittle, or deteriorated after decades of exposure to sunlight, heat, and weather. A deteriorated windshield gasket can contribute to water intrusion, wind noise, loose exterior trim, and moisture entering around the windshield opening.
Replacing the windshield weatherstrip restores the seal between the windshield glass and body while allowing the original-style exterior metal trim to be retained.

Important: This is the OEM Style front windshield seal with a groove for the factory-style metal / decorative windshield trim.
It should not be confused with the CAL Style Scirocco Mk1 windshield seal, which has a smooth solid-black exterior profile and eliminates the factory trim.
The windshield trim is not included and must be reused or sourced separately.
This seal fits the Scirocco Mk1 / Type 53 and does not fit the later Scirocco Mk2 / Type 53B.
Professional automotive glass installation is recommended.
