1984-1993 VW Golf MK1 Cabriolet / Cabriolet Convertible Top Header Bow Seal
Replacement front convertible top header bow seal for late Volkswagen Golf MK1 Cabriolet models produced from August 1984 through 1993.
This molded rubber weatherstrip installs along the front edge of the convertible top above the windshield. When the convertible top is closed and latched, the seal sits between the front header bow of the top and the upper windshield frame, providing the primary weather seal across the front of the convertible top.
Original header bow seals commonly become hardened, compressed, cracked, torn, or deteriorated after decades of exposure to sunlight and weather. A worn front top seal can contribute to water intrusion above the windshield, wind noise, drafts, and poor sealing between the convertible top and windshield frame.
This is the later-style header bow seal used from approximately August 1984 onward and replaces the corresponding original Volkswagen front convertible top seal.

Important: This is the front convertible top header bow seal located directly above the windshield. It seals the front edge of the convertible top against the windshield frame when the top is closed.
This is the later-style seal for vehicles produced from approximately August 1984 onward.
Earlier Golf MK1 Cabriolet / Rabbit Convertible models use a different front header bow seal, OEM / OE reference 155 871 349 A.
Due to the design of this reproduction, careful installation is important. Begin installation at the center and work outward evenly to properly position the seal across the full width of the header bow. A suitable weatherstrip/profile rubber adhesive is recommended during installation.
This is not the rear convertible top bow seal, side window-to-top seal, or windshield weatherstrip.
