VW Mk1 Roll-Up Door Window Mitered Glass Run Channel
Replacement mitered roll-up door window glass run channel for Volkswagen Mk1 models. This is the universal Mk1 window channel used across the Golf, Rabbit, Jetta, Scirocco, Caddy, and Rabbit Pickup platform.
The channel installs around the upper and trailing edges of the roll-up door glass opening. It provides the rubber and felt-lined surface that guides and cushions the door glass as the window is raised and lowered while also helping seal the glass when fully closed.
Each channel is supplied with the corner already mitered, eliminating the need to create the upper corner from straight bulk channel material. The universal Mk1 design can be trimmed as necessary during installation for the specific door and vehicle application.
Original window channels commonly become hardened, cracked, torn, worn, or separated with age. The felt lining can also deteriorate or disappear entirely, allowing the glass to rattle, bind, move excessively, or contact hardened rubber as it travels through the door frame.
Replacing the worn channel restores proper support around the roll-up glass, helps the window travel smoothly through the frame, reduces glass movement and rattles, and improves sealing around the upper portion of the door glass.
